Starting at either Peckingell lay-by, St Giles Church or the Langley Tap, this walk encompasses the core village listed buildings and takes you across the River Avon meadows (where the Avon has been designated a SSSI), past a WWII pillbox, the Kellaways Farmhouse across the field to the east, to the pretty church of St Giles, and other listed buildings.
You will walk a lot of the way on the famous Maud Heath's Causeway, which actually starts at the top of Wick Hill towards Bremhill, before reaching its end in what is now Chippenham. The road through the village however is known as The Common.
